My approach
Above all, I paint without brushes.
The approach, before painting, is the first look, an open wandering gaze, on the lookout for the slightest light, the secret shadow, the unusual.
My artistic universe is seeded by the contemplation of the world around me, the observation of a blade of grass, a drop of water in the sun, the flight of a bird, the flame of a candle. ….finally I “do nothing but dream”.
I must say all the same that I have a natural propensity to consider a stone as a mountain in its own right or a stalk of parsley as a conifer perhaps clinging to this same mountain…. Escape from small nothings, concretely travel to the hollow of the studio… long-term travel… because after a figurative period the need for elsewhere has imposed itself.
I sensed other adventures, the call of risk and the unknown. I approached more and more towards non-figuration; this exploration enriches me with emotions and now takes me to unexplored lands, always leaving me impatiently awaiting the next departure.
This intuition has not betrayed me, abstraction is for me the open door to the world in its fascinating complexity with a feeling of perpetual astonishment.
However, the door closes on the contemplation of my studio where I feel in harmony with the one who paints, honest and ardent.
The dialogue quickly sets up between the tool and the canvas, a single task, a single line triggers the sensory process; the material settles in grace and the incisive knife immediately destroys its superb.
Everything is to start again, to know how to ignore…. another miracle will arise because that's what it's all about, painting is a mystery… which will never cease to captivate me.
The mixture of yellow and blue makes green. Incredible no.
